The Denver Broncos scored a one-yard touchdown during Sunday’s game against the Buffalo Bills and many fans were excited — including the referees.
After Broncos running back C.J. Anderson’s touchdown, the refs fist-bumped in celebration.
WATCH:
NFL spokesman Michael Signora made a statement to ESPN regarding the refs’ actions: “It was an acknowledgment of good mechanics between the two officials involved in making the call.”
Bills safety Aaron Williams was not appreciative of the ref’s actions, later tweeting about it.
No excuse for my performance but can't win playing 16 vs 11 thought I seen it all Smh https://t.co/CrfVO2YxA6

The refs most likely wanted to acknowledge their ability to make a good call after a quick play, but where’s the fun in that? #fistbump.
The Broncos came up on top with a final score of 24-17.
