A new poll doesn’t bode well for John Kerry’s peace efforts in the Holy Land.

According to a survey by the Ramallah-based Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research (PSR), 80 percent of Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza support “attempts by individual Palestinians to stab or run over Israelis in Jerusalem and the rest of the West Bank.”

The poll, which was conducted earlier this month and included interviews with 1,270 Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza, comes in the wake of a series of such attacks against Israelis. (READ: 9 Things You Need To Know About Hamas — Straight From Its Charter)

“[S]upport for armed struggle has increased compared to our previous findings three months ago particularly in light of the dangerous tension in Jerusalem and the holy places,” PSR wrote in a statement, summing up the results of the poll, which has a 3 percent margin of error.

“The Palestinian public believes the worst regarding Israeli intentions and goals for al Haram al Sharif, the Nobel Sanctuary, and half of the public fears that Israel will succeed in achieving those goals. Perhaps driven by this fear, the overwhelming majority tends to support those acts of violence, such as knifing and run-over, that have become lately more frequent in Jerusalem.”
