It looks like there’s a new heavyweight supporter backing Rand Paul’s possible 2016 presidential run.
Former UFC fighter Chael Sonnen professed his support for Paul in an interview with Mofo Politics on Wednesday.
Sonnen — who is currently a mixed martial arts analyst for ESPN — said that he believes Hillary Clinton will gain the Democratic nod come 2016, and “if it was up to [Sonnen]” the Republican nominee would be none other than Rand Paul.

Sonnen is no new comer to politics. He ran as the Republican Candidate in the Oregon House of Representatives’ 37th district back in 2010, and during the 2012 election, he was openly critical of Ron Paul’s foreign policy, calling the platform weak, “especially on Iran.”
