Republican Utah Sen. Mike Lee recently opened up to The Daily Caller about his thoughts on Iran, the threat of a primary challenge in 2016 and the books that have most influenced him.

“I really liked Jonah Goldberg’s ‘Liberal Fascism,” Lee, whose new book “Our Lost Constitution” came out earlier this month, told TheDC when asked what three books most helped shape his worldview outside of religious texts. “I thought it was an outstanding book. I wish every American would read it. I absolutely loved it.”

“I’m a big fan of  a lot of books written by Mark Levin, including ‘Liberty and Tyranny.’ That was one that I read shortly before running for this office,” Lee continued. “I also really liked the biography by Amity Shlaes about Calvin Coolidge, which is simply entitled ‘Coolidge.’ Great book. Great book, and it’s also a nice sort of prequel to another book of hers that I really liked called ‘The Forgotten Man.”

Asked what sources he reads to get his news, Lee said: “I consult the Drudge Report a lot. I find the Drudge Report to be a very efficient aggregator of news information.”

He also mentioned The Daily Caller and the Wall Street Journal, among others, as news outlets he regularly consults.

Watch TheDC’s full interview with Lee to hear what the senator had to say about his new book, the threat of Josh Romney primary challenging him in 2016 and President Barack Obama’s handling of the threat of a nuclear Iran.
