Timothy Simons, who plays the obnoxious White House liaison Jonah Ryan on the HBO series “Veep” threw his support behind former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley over Hillary Clinton for president.

“I’m for Martin O’Malley,” he said on the red carpet of the White House Correspondents’ Dinner while he stood next to the potential 2016 candidate.

O’Malley appreciated the endorsement on Saturday but noted that he hasn’t even announced yet.

While the show “Veep” is a D.C.-themed show, focusing on the life of a fictional vice president played by Julia Louis-Dreyfus, the show mainly films in Maryland. The show began filming in Maryland while O’Malley was governor.

Despite the endorsement on the red carpet, President Barack Obama and Saturday Night Live cast member Cecily Strong slammed O’Malley’s name ID during the dinner.

“Let’s not forget Martin O’Malley. I don’t have anything to add, that’s just his actual campaign slogan: ‘Let’s not forget Martin O’Malley, ” quipped the SNL comedian and White House Correspondents’ Dinner entertainer.

“Hillary kicks things off by going completely unrecognized at a Chipotle. Not to be outdone, Martin O’Malley went completely unrecognized at a Martin O’Malley campaign event,” joked Obama at the dinner.
