Politico’s Glenn Thrush said the accusations emanating from “Clinton Cash” have “a ton of legs” on “Now with Alex Wagner” Tuesday.

Thrush added that it only helps those reporting such accusations that former President Bill Clinton did not push against the claims in a “particularly convincingly” fashion, even though the Clinton campaign continues to push against the book’s claims.

“Oh, I got some interesting e-mails. Not just from team Clinton, but from some Jeb Bush people who have noticed that he said he spent the last four months looking into Jeb Bush’s private business deals. So that’s kind of an interesting dynamic, too,” Thrush said after interviewing the book’s author, Peter Schweizer. “But yeah, there’s a lot of interest in that stuff. One of the other things that he said to me was he blamed the Clinton folks for leaking all the advanced copies and details of the reporting so that it would have less than a bang. “Wait, do you think as a reporter that’s true, Glenn?” Wagner pushed back. “Because I feel like after those — if they were leaks, the look has had a lot of legs in terms of a discussion point at least, when we talk about analysis of the 2016 race and how it’s shaping up.”

“Oh, I think it has a ton of legs,” Thrush said. “I think when you have the president of the United States in Kenya yesterday spending a good period of time answering a lot of these charges and not in that instance particularly convincingly, yes, I do think this stuff has a lot of legs.”
