If you had forgotten that the official @BarackObama Twitter account is run by the somehow-tax-exempt Obama for America Organizing for America Organizing for Action, King Barry himself would like to remind you: That ain’t really him. This is him.
Hello, Twitter! It's Barack. Really! Six years in, they're finally giving me my own account.
— President Obama (@POTUS) May 18, 2015
It’s definitely a momentous occasion, for some reason.
President Obama. In the Oval Office. Tweeting. #WelcomeToTwitter, @POTUS! http://t.co/SzWXltjNK0 pic.twitter.com/ce4DurwYXj

It's about time, @POTUS! –mo

The bear is loose on the Twittersphere! Welcome to the interwebs, Mr. President. https://t.co/SrlAbK3rfK

Hey @POTUS – Welcome to Twitter. See you around the neighborhood. –vp pic.twitter.com/iaUVFtQVpk

Okay. So now he’ll tell lies on Twitter directly, instead of through an intermediary. I guess that’s… good?
While everyone is basking in the glory of this momentous day in American history, some people want to bring everybody down:
When Obama isn’t president, will his handle still be “POTUS”? Will he go with Ex-POTUS? Seems kind of dick to hold on to POTUS when not one.
— Sonny Bunch (@SonnyBunch) May 18, 2015
Why would you even want to think about a world where Obama is no longer POTUS? History began when he took office (except for the stuff that’s George Bush’s fault), and it will end when he leaves. It’s all about him.
As usual.
