Earlier today, The Mirror reported that Florida police had arrested Ahmed Saleem, a former regional rep for CAIR, for soliciting sex from a 12-year-old girl. That girl was actually a police detective helping to catch predators in a sting operation.

The news was previously reported by the Orlando Sentinel.

The story said that CAIR (the Council on American Islamic Relations) claimed that Saleem played a remote role in the organization’s activities and after only a brief stint abandoned his job.

But a new report by blogger SooperMexican suggests that Saleem’s role was far bigger than the organization let on. Earlier this year, they had him lead the group at a press conference to announce that a family they were representing after their son was killed by FBI agents was suing the agency.

In other words, small, minor, unimportant events like a national lawsuit involving death.

Florida CAIR no longer lists Saleem on its website, but see a screenshot here.
