A video taken from a private drone appears to show New York firefighters use a water hose to try to knock the drone from the sky.

John Thompson took his private drone, equipped with a video camera, and flew it over a burning home firefighters were responding to in Walden, N.Y., The Smoking Gun reports.

The video shows an amazing aerial view of the firefighters and the smoldering house, but then the firefighters notice the drone’s presence. At about 11:55 into the video, a few firefighters appear to look up at the drone before one uses his host to blast it with a flood of water.

The video screenshot below captures the water hitting and presumably ruining the camera.

Thompson was across the street operating the drone, and has said he wants to be compensated for the damages.

“Stopped at a structure fire in Coldenham fire district and 13 min in to shooting the video the fire company tryed to blow my drone out of the sky with the fire hose for filming the fire,” Thompson wrote on Facebook. “My second take off the camera did not record so it look’s like they destroyed a $2,200.00 drone.”
