Former Texas Gov. Rick Perry slammed President Barack Obama in an interview with radio host Michael Medved Monday for his comment that the U.S. doesn’t have a “complete strategy” against ISIS in the Middle East.

Perry argued that Obama has a “very difficult time connecting the dots on what’s important in the world,” adding that he does not understand Obama’s strategy on the world stage “if he even has one at all.”

“This president has a very difficult time connecting the dots on what’s important in the world,” Perry said when asked about the Monday comment in conjunction with Obama’s support for Caitlyn Jenner’s transition.

“He’s negotiating with Iran, a country that has promised to wipe Israel off the face of the world,” Perry said. “He has — and this is a country, I remind people, that murdered our marines in Beirut. That supplied the weapons that killed our soldiers in Iraq. This is a country that if you allow them to go forward with this negotiation, they will acquire a nuclear weapon that will put the Middle East in absolute jeopardy.”

“This is a president that threw a lifeline to the Castro regime in Cuba,” Perry told the host. “I really don’t understand his strategy, if he even has one at all.”
