A government contractor named Kenneth Bacon stole personal information from at least 17 people when he worked at a call center meant to help people enroll in Obamacare, Click2Houston reports.

He opened multiple credit card accounts using the name, Social Security number, and birth date of enrollees and purchased around $8,000 worth of personal goods.

Bacon is due to appear in court June 23 for felony fraudulent use and possession of identifying information. Many of Bacon’s victims were elderly patients.

“They thought he was hired by the government to help them sign up for affordable healthcare.”
