Not all Muslims are terrorists, and not all terrorists are Muslims. Therefore, when terrorists who happen to be Muslim kill people and destroy things, it has nothing to do with any other event, past or future. Each and every Muslim terror attack is an isolated incident. There is no pattern to be found. There are no conclusions to be drawn.
Or else.
Most importantly, the real victims are all the innocent Muslims who have to put up with dirty looks and rude remarks in the wake of such an attack. They’ve got it at least as bad as the dead and wounded, if not worse.
Attackers stormed a factory and killed one person in a suspected terror attack on a U.S.-based chemical factory in France on Friday.
Two individuals beheaded a man, put the severed head on a gate at the industrial gas factory’s entrance, and posted an Arabic-language note to it, Bloomberg reports. Then, attackers drove into gas cylinders, trying to cause a massive explosion at the plant near Lyon.
The New York Times reported one assailant waved an Islamic State flag during the attack.
So far, the motive is unknown. There are no reports of Confederate flags. None of these terrorists left behind any Tea Party literature. Hell, they’re probably not even white. How can we know why they did this?
I’m sure they had their reasons, and I’m sure that ultimately it’s my fault. I’m very, very sorry.
