Politico recently moved its newsroom two flights up. Now they have bells and whistles and a kitchen with lots of snacks.

And with snacks comes pounds.

Politico can’t exactly take over the world if its reporters can’t keep up physically can they?

To that end, they’re instituting a fitness challenge. So enjoy your fourth of July POLITICOS, because it starts July 7. Employees can earn points by taking a six-week class or participating in runs or company softball.

He or she who earns the most points can win an Apple watch or free training sessions.

See the internal memo below.

Subject: POLITICO Summer Fitness Challenge

Team,

As mentioned in last week’s Talent Ops Newsletter, we are excited to launch POLITICO’s Summer Fitness Challenge!

This challenge will run through the end of August and include a variety of POLITICO-exclusive activities. In partnership with Verve Health & Fitness, we are kicking off our Summer Fitness Challenge with six-week class beginning on July 7. Classes will take place on the 7th floor of 1100 Wilson Blvd at Verve, on Tuesdays at 7 a.m. and Thursdays at 6p.m.. You will receive a point for each Verve class you attend.

How else can you earn points?

POLITICOs can earn points by participation in POLITICO Runs, our POLITICO softball team, biking/running/walking to and from work, and other activities that we’ll roll out between now and the end of the challenge.

How do you get credit?
Verve Fit Camp: Make sure you sign in on the sheet provided and we’ll record accordingly.
