Led by Governor Nikki Haley, South Carolina officially removed the Confederate battle flag flying in front of the state legislature on Friday morning.
The bill removing the flag — signed by Haley on Thursday — stipulates that the flag will be housed in a Confederate Relics exhibit in the South Carolina Military Museum in Columbia, which chronicles the state’s military history from the Revolutionary War through the present day.
