“Help! Someone is selling Confederate flags!”
Over the weekend, Wallingford police were dispatched after someone called them to say there was a merchant selling Nazi and Confederate memorabilia at [a] flea market, which some had found deeply offensive. The police chief says no one was arrested because no laws were broken; the items were being sold on private property.
Just because there’s no law against selling something that might upset someone, that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t start arresting people for it. What are you, a racist?
If you see something you don’t like, call 911. You’re not wasting anybody’s time. Your feelings are very important.
