They could have picked “Minions” or “Jurassic World,” but instead the Obamas will watch a film about an Irish immigrant who spent ten years “exiled” in America during their family movie night.
The Obamas requested “Jimmy’s Hall” — a movie about James Gralton, the only Irishman ever deported from Ireland — to watch during their upcoming family vacation in Martha’s Vineyard.
In the 1930s-based film, Gralton attempts to to revitalize an abandoned community center with dance lessons, but faces backlash when the Catholic Church calls the group “anti-Christ.”
C’mon Obama.
Even “Magic Mike XXL” would have been better.
