Former Iowa Hawkeyes and New York Giants safety Tyler Sash was found dead in his apartment by a member of his family on Tuesday.
The Giants selected the 27-year-old Iowa native in the sixth round of the 2011 draft. He spent two season in the league and was a reserve on New York’s Super Bowl XLVI championship team his rookie year.
Though the cause of Sash’s death remains unknown, Grantland’s Bill Barnwell reported he had a history of concussions shortly after the news of his passing broke. (RELATED: Sony Took ‘Most Of The Bite’ Out of ‘Concussion’ To Avoid Pissing Off NFL)
