Glenn Beck: ‘It’s Over’ For Boehner And McConnell
When Glenn Beck was in Washington, D.C. to speak at the Rally against the Iran Deal, The Daily Caller interviewed him for our weekly Leader series about the state of our nation.
Beck says he’s “not a preacher,” but from what he is observing, America appears to be at a “fork at the road.” We are between “lies, deceit, corruption, death, darkness, anger, hatred and ‘black lives matter’” and “life, light, goodness, kindness, love and all lives matter.” A society confused and misled, Beck describes an America abandoning truth and its foundations.
The visionary leader foresees a time when God says to America, “I can’t protect you anymore.” Instead, Beck says, “he’s going to allow us to feel the full ramifications of our choice.”
Asked to grade Republican congressional leaders Mitch McConnell and John Boehner, Beck is quick to issue Fs for failing to lead. Beck says the Republican party is “imploding.”
“It’s over,” he says. “If they don’t get it very soon, they will be the Whig Party of tomorrow… I wouldn’t cross the street to say a word to any of them.”
Rather than believing Republicans have let us down, Beck says “we have let ourselves, our children and God down” by lending politicians our power, responsibility and honor.
“It’s our honor to stand at this time… You don’t need permission from Washington to do the right thing,” he says.
Speaking to citizens demoralized by politicians in Washington, Beck says, “you cannot remain silent. You must stand now.” “This is the time that we were born for,” Beck says to those with eyes to see and ears to hear what he is saying. “Those who will stand right now — that is what you are born to do.”
Having recently attended the moving funeral services for the 47-year-old Harris County, TX deputy Darren Goforth, who was killed execution-style by a black killer, Beck was still talking about this experience.
“It was the most powerful thing I’ve ever been a part of,” he said. “Evil thinks it’s won,” as he mentioned the evil we have also seen in the Planned Parenthood videos.
But, he adds, “evil always overplays its hands just before God rises up.”
Passionate about America’s founding, yet moved by the barbarism happening to innocents abroad, Beck is committed to opening our borders to the persecuted. Quoting the Emma Lazarus poem on the Statue of Liberty with tears in his eyes, “when we don’t welcome in the ‘tempest- tost,’ when we can see a boy laying face down in the sand, and we don’t accept them into our country, we don’t have a light that we are holding by that door anymore,” he says.
Beck also discusses the thousands of people who joined him at a recent march in Birmingham, Alabama, that was not covered by most media.
Beck has started a “Nazarene Fund” to raise $10 million before Christmas to bring the Christians in from Syria. “We can save more people by Christmas than Oscar Schindler saved.” If the Obama administration suddenly decides the border is not open for these people, Beck says, he “will so gladly grace a jail for a just cause of saving people’s lives.”
Beck is trying to unite and speak to Americans of different faiths. “I refuse to be the church that stood and said, ‘sing louder when the trains with Jews go by.’ Our churches have gone dead inside.”
Assessing President Obama’s surprisingly high approval numbers, Beck quotes Isaiah 5:20. They are high, he says, “because we are a society that has made evil good and good evil.”
People believe things that are not true he says because “they have gone dead inside. They have let others do their own homework. They don’t want to think things through. It’s too hard.”
Being the author of numerous books, Beck also discusses his newest book, “It IS About Islam: Exposing the Truth About ISIS, Al Qaeda, Iran and the Caliphate” in this video interview.
At the end of the interview, when asked what the next president should do when in office, Beck gives three answers. He should heal the spiritual wounds of this nation, restore the light Lady Liberty is supposed to have, and restore the meaning and functionality of our U.S. Constitution.
