One side calls it a clock, the other a “hoax bomb.” Whatever it is, it has landed the city of Irving, Texas in the middle of a mediastorm of outrage.
Ahmed Mohamed, 14, brought the device he and his family call clock to MacArthur High School and found himself arrested because it was mistaken for a bomb. Irving Police Chief Larry Boyd said Ahmed brought a “hoax bomb,” not a clock, and that is why he was arrested.
Whatever the reason for the arrest, it has led to an invite to the White House for Ahmed from President Barack Obama himself. (RELATED: Cops Detain High School Freshman Ahmed Mohamed After Officials Mistake His Clock For A BOMB)
Cool clock, Ahmed. Want to bring it to the White House? We should inspire more kids like you to like science. It's what makes America great.
