There’s Nothing Wrong With Being A Muslim, So Don’t You Dare Call Obama A Muslim

For the record, I don’t believe President Barack Hussein Obama is a Muslim. Nor is he a Christian, nor a member of any other religion. That would require him to believe in a power higher than himself. (Sure, he went to a church for 20 years, but obviously he wasn’t listening.)

I also don’t like Donald Trump, and there are innumerable reasons not to vote for Donald Trump. But none of those reasons are helping the media destroy him — just the opposite, actually — so now they’re falling back on some old tricks.

That’s right: An audience member said something that the author disagreed with, and the candidate “let it slide.” This is an old standby in political coverage, as long as the candidate isn’t a Democrat. The Republican is responsible for everything every single one of his supporters says.

He didn’t correct the random guy who blurted out something he wasn’t supposed to! Have you ever heard of such a thing in your life? This will finally convince people who think Trump would be a good president that they’re wrong.

This whole game is dumb and dishonest for yet another reason, as novelist Andrew Klavan points out:

If there’s nothing wrong with being a Muslim, why is it such a horrible slur to call someone a Muslim?

It’s almost as if Democrats are incoherent, illogical children who don’t think about the implications of their words.

But go ahead, guys. The usual tactics don’t work at all against stupid Donald Trump, but that’s no reason to learn some new ones. The more you build him up, the sweeter it’ll be when Carly Fiorina takes him down.

Update: Listen to the tone of Hillary Clinton’s voice when she was asked about this during the ’08 campaign. You’d think Obama had been accused of molesting children. What’s with the strident, almost panicky insistence that he’s not a Muslim, something he has every right to be as an American?

And of course, there’s another side to that coin:
