The feud between 2016 Republican hopefuls Donald Trump and Marco Rubio is heating up.

When asked for his thoughts on the billionaire calling him  a “clown” at the Value Voters Summit last week, the Florida politician told NPR he wants nothing to do with the real estate mogul’s “freak show” campaign.

“I’m not interested in the back and forth — to be a member or a part of his freak show,” Rubio said in an interview Monday with “Morning Edition.” “I would just say this: He is a very sensitive person; he doesn’t like to be criticized. He responds to criticism very poorly.”

Trump seems to be stepping up his attacks on Rubio after the junior senator saw a rise in the polls after his last debate performance.

The Republican frontrunner has gone after Rubio for his immigration policies, youth, lack of money,  sweaty appearance during the CNN debate and even his hair.

“(Rubio) announced he was going to run because he’s overly ambitious, too young — and I have better hair than he does, right?” Trump said during a recent speech in South Carolina.

Rubio rebuffed the controversial businessman’s insults, accusing his opponent of dishing it out while being too thin-skinned to take it.

“He had a really bad debate performance last week, he’s not well-informed on the issues, he really never talks about issues and can’t have more than a 10 second sound bite on any key issue,” he told CNN Thursday. “So I think he’s really been exposed a little bit over the last seven days and he’s a very touchy and insecure guy and so that’s how he reacts. And people can see through it.”
