The hosts of “The View” called Ben Carson’s views on abortion “despicable” and pathetic.”(RELATED: Carson: No Abortion In Cases Of Rape Or Incest)
Monday on “The View,” Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Raven-Symone and Michelle Collins criticized Carson’s views on abortion, which he shared on “Meet the Press.”
“If people can come up with a reasonable explanation of why they would like to kill a baby, I’ll listen,” he said.
After the interview clip, Behar said, “What can you say to that, you know? It’s pathetic.”
Collins called Carson’s views “despicable.”
Goldberg chimed in and insisted, “Sir, no disrespect, truly no disrespect, but it’s not your call. You don’t decide. You don’t decide, you don’t decide for anybody’s family here what they are going through and what they need.”
Raven criticized Carson for drawing comparisons between abortion and slavery, suggesting they “don’t make any sense.”
Collins then argued “to hear him say he wouldn’t help an incest survivor or a rape survivor do what they want to do with their own future, I’m almost glad he says it because it kind of negates everything he has to say. To me, it shows people that the guy is just completely off.”
Raven blasted Carson for “not taking into consideration the emotional standpoint of the women.”
Goldberg reiterated her displeasure with Carson, insisting, “I’m sorry, but you know, no one, no one — you guys love to talk about keeping folks out of your business. I don’t want you in my business. See, I don’t mind if you don’t want to have this. I don’t mind that you feel this is a bad thing. I understand that. But don’t you dare tell women who don’t have the choice that many women with money have — because that’s who we’re talking about really, because a woman with month can go and … fly anywhere to get it done.”
