Jeb Bush wants to “declare war” on ISIS and “harness all of the power that the U.S. can bring to bear both diplomatic and military.”
Appearing on NBC’s “Meet the Press” with Chuck Todd on Sunday, Bush was asked if the U.S. should change strategy in Syria and just focus on getting rid of ISIS instead of also working on getting rid of Assad as president of Syria. Bush said “we need to do both. You don’t see ISIS and Assad fighting each other. The fight is with the remnants of the Syrian Free Army.”
“We need to build that force up which is not what is happening. This is viewed as a law enforcement exercise by the Obama Administration,” explained Bush. “We should declare war and harness all of the power that the U.S. can bring to bear both diplomatic and military of course to be able to take out ISIS, we have the capabilities of doing this, we just haven’t shown the will.”
