Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter signed a law Thursday forcing Philly eateries to offer gender-neutral bathrooms to customers.
Under the law — proposed by Philly’s Office of LGBT Affairs — all bars and restaurants must convert any single-occupancy restrooms into safer, gender-neutral bathrooms in order “to ease the discomfort of transgender people,” CBS reported.

LGBT Affairs Director Nellie Fitzpatrick lauded Nutter’s actions, noting how an “all-inclusive bathroom can simply reduce the stress of using the restroom.” (RELATED: San Francisco School Switches To Gender-Neutral Bathrooms)
