Obama administration officials are preparing to deal with an influx of unaccompanied children and families from Central America over the next several months

U.S. Customs and Border Protection has begun constructing camps in North Texas, with some Dallas area officials anticipating as many as 1,000 children could arrive in the next week, reports Wall Street Journal.

Back in November, National Border Patrol Council Vice President Chris Cabrera stated that despite CBP claims that “illegal immigration flows have fallen to their lowest level in at least two decades,” illegal immigrants were crossing the border at “unseasonably high rates.” (AUDIO: Border Patrol Union Leader: Illegals Crossing At ‘Unseasonably’ High Rates)

Cabrera claims that the White House’s deferred action protocols — urging customs officials to detain not deport illegal immigrants — is responsible for the recent immigration influx.

He testified before Congress in October, stating that if immigrants “knew that if they were caught they would be detained, adjudicated and repatriated to their home country … the numbers would fall dramatically.”
