Hillary Clinton’s campaign sent out a fundraising email on Tuesday with a shocking admission: “Bernie Sanders’ campaign is on track to outraise us this month.”

In the letter written by Robby Mook, Clinton’s Campaign manager, he mentioned the fact the Sanders’ campaign says, “they’ve brought in more individual contributions than any candidate has ever had at this point in a primary.”

Mook’s argued that this could mean that “more of his [Sanders’s] supporters are chipping in to fund his campaign,” even though the Clinton campaign has “more support.”

Then Mook claimed that due to fundraising shortages, “When we go into our first contests in Iowa and New Hampshire, we might not have the resources we’ll need to really compete.”

“The fact is, many of our supporters don’t think this campaign needs any help. If you’re one of those people, I hate to say it, but you’re wrong. We’re completely reliant on you and your support,” Mook said.

“Every dollar you give helps get us one step closer to reaching the voters we need to win in those key early states,” Mook explained. “I can promise you this: We won’t waste a cent. But you have to step up right now to close the fundraising gap and get Hillary to her first victories.”

The email concludes with a link to the Clinton campaign website to donate one dollar.

The Clinton campaign has a valid reason to be concerned. According to the latest CBS/YouGov poll from December 14 to December 17, Sanders is leading 56 percent to 42 percent in New Hampshire. In Iowa, the CBS/YouGov poll from the same time period has Clinton is leading by just five percent now with 50 percent to 45 percent.
