Less than a week after criticizing Donald Trump’s proposed moratorium on Muslim immigration, filmmaker Michael Moore said that the current GOP front-runner “is absolutely going to be the Republican” nominee in the upcoming presidential election.

“We’ve moved back into a darker time,” Moore told Business Insider. “It’s going from being a joke to being a serious reality.”

“Are we going to lose another decade of making our country a better place and the world a better place because we’re so caught up in violence and war? I think those are all probably part of why” Trump is polling so high, Moore explained.

Furthermore, Moore stated that even though Trump has alienated women, minorities and the youth vote, Trump will still get the GOP nod because “his side always shows up to vote.”

Finally, Moore stated that he believes “that Bernie Sanders could be elected president of the United States. [He thinks] people will pour out in droves to elect him and there’s just not enough angry white guys anymore over the age of 35 to put Trump in office.”
