Saturday night the Washington Redskins faced the Philadelphia Eagles with the NFC East division title on the line, and Redskins’ quarterback Kirk Cousins had one of the weirdest plays of the season.

Cousins decided to take a knee and run out the clock instead of attempting to score a touchdown with six-seconds left in the first half, no timeouts and the ball on the six yard line of the Eagles in prime scoring position. To make matters worse the game was close with the Redskins holding a slim 16-10 lead.

It’s obvious that Cousins probably meant to spike the ball in order to stop the clock — perhaps to kick a field goal — but for some unknown reasons just forgot and instead royally screwed up by kneeing it. (RELATED: Watch The Dumbest Play In Monday Night Football History [VIDEO])

Luckily for Cousins and the Skins, they ultimately won the game 38-24, and punch their ticket to the playoffs by being NFC East Champs.
