Republican front-runner Donald Trump lashed out at Rep. [crscore]Trey Gowdy[/crscore] during a Sunday morning interview with “Fox and Friends.”
According to Business Insider, Trump called the Gowdy-led, Hillary Clinton Benghazi hearings “a disaster.”
“Everybody was looking forward to something that was going to be really productive,” Trump said of the South Carolina congressman, who will reportedly endorse Sen. [crscore]Marco Rubio[/crscore] for president this week. (RELATED: Trey Gowdy To Endorse Marco Rubio, Will Campaign In Iowa)
“He didn’t win with those hearings,” Trump added. “It was a total not-good for Republicans and for the country.”

"@mitchellvii: Face it, Trey Gowdy failed miserably on Benghazi. He allowed it to drag out and in the end, let Hillary get away with murder.

"@mitchellvii: My prediction on the Trey Gowdy endorsement of Rubio is that it will do nothing for Rubio and finish Gowdy."

Trump’s Sunday remarks illustrate a sharp departure from his previous comments about Gowdy.
Over the summer, Trump re-tweeted a tweet saying Gowdy should be the Attorney General under “President Trump.”
"@USARestoring: @HillaryClinton's toast. Dems had better get the"B Team" off the bench. @TGowdySC for Attorney General under President Trump

He also previously praised former Speaker [crscore]John Boehner[/crscore]’s decision to name Gowdy the chairman of the House Select Committee on Benghazi.
Great decision by @SpeakerBoehner in placing @TGowdySC as chairman of the Benghazi select committee. Gowdy is a seasoned prosecutor.
