Americans officially admire Donald Trump as much as Pope Francis, says a new Gallup poll.

Among the 824 poll participants, 5 percent named the current Republican front-runner the man they admire most in the world, the same number garnered by His Holiness.

Still, both Trump and Pope Francis fall short of the 17 percent earned by President Barack Obama, who earned the top spot for the eighth consecutive year. (RELATED: Despite Hard Year, Obama Remains Most Admired)

Similarly, Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton was named the most admired woman in the world for the 14th consecutive year, earning 13 percent of the vote in the process.

Despite both retaining the top spots, Gallup notes that “the percentage mentioning each as most admired is slightly lower than the percentages they have received in the past.” Across Obama’s eight wins, he has garnered an average 23-percent of the vote, while Clinton has averaged 16-percent in the past.
