In retaliation for the execution of 47 prisoners, including the popular Shi’ite cleric Namr al-Namr, by Saudi Arabia, rioters in Iran stormed the Saudi embassy in Tehran.
The mob smashed the contents of the building and threw Molotov cocktails at the building. (RELATED: Saudi Arabia Executes Prominent Government Critic, 46 Others)
Namr, one of only four Shi’ites in the group, was executed for what the Saudis deemed anti-governemnt activities.
