Make It A Double, Grandma Clinton: Juanita Broaddrick Just Joined Twitter

If our moral, ethical, and intellectual betters on the left seem even crankier and more bitter than usual lately, it’s because cognitive dissonance is excruciating, and this particular Clintonian paradox is even more difficult to resolve than most.

Clinton Era #1 collides with Clinton Era #2 in just two tweets. Tweet #1:

Yes, that’s really Juanita Broaddrick. Unless Vox has screwed up again, which is entirely possible.

For the purposes of argument, let’s assume it’s really Broaddrick. Hillary Clinton’s statement was absolute: Every survivor. By her own standard — if we can use such a word for anything the Clintons say or do — any woman who accuses Bill Clinton of rape must be heard, believed, and supported.

Hillary Clinton must hear, believe, and support Juanita Broaddrick.

There must be some way to sweep the whole thing back under the rug, Team Hillary. There must be some way to discredit this survivor of sexual assault, while still claiming to speak for all the other victims of sexual assault. It ain’t called Clintonian parsing for nothin’.

Maybe you could dig in your heels and insist that it depends on the definition of “Every.”

The old Clinton playbook is pretty outdated, though, isn’t it? Just look at what’s happening to Bill Cosby. A society that turned a blind eye to his alleged behavior for decades has finally turned on him. Will the same thing happen to a very famous alleged sex criminal named Bill who isn’t black? Is such a thing possible in America?

The whole thing must be stressful for the most qualified, likeable, and honest candidate in Election 2016. But she’ll cope with it the way she always has.

Bottoms up, Hill.

Peter Hasson has more.

P.S. If you’ve ever wondered how to get Bill Clinton to shut up, here you go.
