A poll released Tuesday by the American Research Group shows Donald Trump maintaining his lead in New Hampshire with Ohio Gov. John Kasich surging up to second and within seven points of the New York businessman.

Trump was in first place with 27 percent, Kasich followed with 20 percent, in third was [crscore]Marco Rubio[/crscore] with 10 percent. New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and Texas Sen. [crscore]Ted Cruz[/crscore] were tied with 9 percent, followed by Bush with eight percent, and [crscore]Rand Paul[/crscore] with 5 percent. No other candidate polled above 2 percent.

Kasich performed strong with voters who are “definite” voters, gaining 22 percent of their support, Trump got 24 percent. The poll also showed Trump dominating when it comes to younger voters, age 18 to 49, receiving 30 percent as opposed to Kasich’s 16 percent. There was not one category that Trump did not lead.

This poll marks an upward trend to Kasich, who is currently in second in the RealClearPolitics average for New Hampshire.
