Donald Trump says that he would “love” to see former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg run for president as a third party candidate in 2016.
On NBC’s “Meet the Press” Sunday with Chuck Todd, Trump said, “I would love to have Michael Bloomberg run, I would love that competition. I think I’d do very well against it.” (RELATED: Report: Bloomberg ‘Drawing Up Plan’ For Presidential Run)
Todd asked Trump, “What do you make of the idea that if you’re the nominee, if Sanders is the nominee, that’s what would inspire Mr. Bloomberg to go third party?”
“Well, Michael has been a friend of mine over the years, I don’t know if we’re friends anymore, frankly. But Michael has been a friend of mine,” Trump said. “I would love to have Michael Bloomberg run, I would love that competition. I think I’d do very well against it. I would love to see Michael Bloomberg run.”
