During a discussion on how to defeat ISIS Thursday night at the Fox News debate, Sen.[crscore]Rand Paul[/crscore] attacked Sen.[crscore]Marco Rubio[/crscore] for his support of the “Gang of Eight” immigration bill saying that border security is necessary in the fight against radical Islam.

The discussion between the two began with moderator Megyn Kelly asking Rubio about the threat of domestic terror: “In combating this threat Senator Rubio you’ve advocated closing down mosques, diners, any place where radicalization is occurring, you told me that. But the Supreme Court has made clear that hateful speech is generally protected by the First Amendment. In other words radical Muslims have the right to be radical Muslims unless they turn to terror. Doesn’t your position run afoul of the First Amendment?”

Rubio responded: “Radical Muslims and Radical Islam is not just hate talk, it’s hate action, they blow people up…Look at the attack they inspired in Philadelphia that the White House still refuses to link to terror…He told the police, ‘I did it because I was inspired by ISIS.’ And to this day the White House refuses to acknowledge it had anything to do with terror…When I am President of the United States if there is someplace in this country where Radical Jihadists are planning to attack the United States, we will go after them where ever they are and if we capture them alive they’re going to Guantanamo. ”

Megyn Kelly than asked Paul if he agreed if we should close down mosques or diners, the Kentucky senator said: “That’s a huge mistake to be closing down mosques, but I would say that if you want to defend the country it begins with border security and this is where I’ve had my disagreement with Senator Rubio. When he brought forward the “Gang of Eight” bill to get citizenship to those who came here illegally, I put forward an amendment that said we should put more scrutiny to those who are coming as students, coming as immigrants, and those who are coming as refugees, because we had two refugees come to my town of Bowling Green and try to attack us…[Rubio] made a deal with Chuck Schumer that he would oppose any conservative amendments…You can’t be in favor of defending us from radical Islam if you’re not for border security.”
