The Republican National Committee managed to raise $9.2 million in the month of January, far exceeding the $5.9 million the Democratic National Committee brought in, Federal Election Commission reports show.

While the RNC has a whooping $18.4 million on hand, the DNC has just $5,103,508 and faces a $7,405,694 debt compared to Republicans’ $1,825,000.

The numbers brought in were even stronger than the $6.1 million raised between Nov. 25 – Dec. 31.

“Thanks to our strong grassroots support, the RNC is running a permanent national ground game that will be key to our nominee’s victory in November,” RNC Chairman Reince Priebus said in a statement.

The RNC boasted it has collected around $114.8 million this election cycle, giving them a leg up for the general election.

“The RNC is organized and engaged earlier and on a larger scale than ever before and the enthusiasm behind our effort is only growing,” Priebus continued. “We continue to be the only organization running a national field organization focused on winning the general election, and we’re doing it thanks to our growing number of supporters across the country.”
