Authorities are currently searching for Rafael McCloud, a capital murder suspect who escaped from jail in Mississippi Wednesday morning.

According to Fox News, McCloud used a makeshift shank to “briefly hold a a jail employee hostage.”

After stealing the employee’s clothes, radio and keys, McCloud “then held the shank against the guard as they went downstairs and [McCloud] left through a side door,” Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace told the Vicksburg Post.

Currently, between 25-30 officers are conducting the manhunt for McCloud.

Back in January, the 34 year old was indicted on capital murder, burglary, rape, sexual battery, attempted arson, larceny and unlawful possession of a weapon charges in connection to the death of 69-year-old Sharon Wilson.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
