In a recent interview, Ohio State football coach Urban Meyer was frank about former quarterback Cardale Jones’ academic record.

It wasn’t a secret that Jones might not have been the biggest fan of going to class after he famously tweeted out, “Why should we have to go to class if we came here to play FOOTBALL, we ain’t come to play SCHOOL classes are POINTLESS.”

Meyer confirmed Jones’ dislike of higher education during an interview with Ohio.com. (SLIDESHOW: This Gorgeous Olympian Loves To Show Off Lots Of Skin)

“A really good skill set, intellectual, very smart, wasn’t necessarily very good at school. I wonder if that kind of set him back a little bit. That’s one difference between pro and college — now he doesn’t have to worry about classes and going to school and all that stuff. He can focus completely on football,” the coach said. (SLIDESHOW: Prepare For The NHL Playoffs With A Hot Blonde Bombshell NHL Wife)

Jones began the 2015-2016 season as the Buckeyes starting quarterback after leading OSU to a national championship but fell out of favor early in the season. (SLIDESHOW: Celebrate The Return Of Baseball With Beautiful Women Who Love Baseball Players)

Despite the rocky season for Jones, he’s still considered an extremely coveted NFL prospect. His arm strength, size and mobility make him a great prospect between the second and fourth rounds.
