Bristol Palin has agreed to let her ex-finance change her daughter’s last name from Palin to Meyer.

Court documents show that Palin’s daughter, whose name is listed as Sailor Grace Palin on her birth certificate, will now change to Sailor Grace Palin Meyer, according to People. Along with adding the father’s name.

“Bristol consented to the change of name some time ago,” Palin’s lawyer said. He added the two are “talking directly and just being parents without involving the lawyers.”

The decision caps several months of a legal custody battle. In March, an Alaska judge granted the pair joint legal and physical custody of their daughter.

Shortly after the ruling, Palin posted a picture on her Instagram account of the three of them. The caption next to the photo read, “coparenting.”

The daughter of former Alaska governor Sarah Palin, has spoken out before on the importance of co-parenting. Putting in a post on Instagram in February, “These babies are my world and I will always be doing what is best for them.”

“Every child deserves two loving parents, so I will continue to encourage that no matter what,” she said. “I have never, and will never, keep them from having a positive relationship with their fathers.”
