Stephen Hawking Does Not Understand The Rise Of Trump

Stephen Hawking said in a recent interview that he does not understand the popularity and rise of Donald Trump. (RELATED: Trump On British Prime Minister: Doesn’t Look Like We’re Going To Get Along)

In an interview with Good Morning Britain, the world-renowned scientists said the Trump phenomenon has him stumped, according to Vanity Fair.

“I can’t,” he said. “He’s a demagogue who seems to appeal to the lowest common denominator.”

Hawking is not the only British public figure to voice their opinion about Trump. Recently London Mayor Sadiq Khan attacked the GOP presidential candidate for saying that Britain has a “massive Muslim problem,” according to another report. British Prime Minister David Cameron has also weighed in on Trump, saying that his proposal to ban Muslims from the U.S. is “divisive, stupid, and wrong.”

Earlier in the year the British parliament went so far as to hold a hearing that would determine whether or not Trump could ever return to the UK, calling what he had said about Muslims “hate speech.” In the end the members decided against it.
