Maturity was brimming on Monday morning as Donald Trump got off to a brusque start by lacerating the media from Trump Tower. The presumptive GOP nominee called The Weekly Standard‘s Bill Kristol a “fool” and a “loser.” Trump concluded the reporter bashing segment of his speech by calling political reporters “some of the most dishonest people I’ve ever met.”

Kristol soon fired back on Twitter by calling Trump a “roaring jackass.”

Trump pointedly called Kristol out at the presser, saying, “He said Trump will never run. The guy is not a smart person. He said Donald Trump will never run. Do you remember? I actually blame you. Why do you put this guy on television? I see him on the different shows. He’s got no credibility. He said i won’t run. If I run, I won’t do well. He looks like such a fool. I saw him on one show and he’s practically crying because he can’t justify it. Now he comes out with a tweet over the weekend, over Memorial Day weekend. It sounds like he’s going to put somebody up.”

Kristol is a huge member of the #NeverTrump camp. He and his anti-Trump comrades have done extensive polling and talked to potential Sugar Daddies to fund a third-party candidate. Their mission is simple: STOP TRUMP.

When Fox News’ Carl Cameron questioned Trump on why he calls “every single” Republican a loser, Trump replied, “But I didn’t say everybody. Bill Kristol is a loser. His magazine is failing, as you know. …I don’t think it even survives.”

These are signature lines that Trump has used before on many other journalists.

And they still happen to have jobs in journalism.

The Mirror requested comment from Kristol on the state of his magazine.

UPDATE: Kristol replied to The Mirror, saying, “The Weekly Standard just celebrated its 1000th issue, and did so in our new offices for which we have a long-term lease. Unlike so many of Donald Trump’s enterprises, we have no intention of declaring bankruptcy or going out of business.”
