Arizona Republican Sen. Jeff Flake thinks Donald Trump’s remarks about could trigger a challenge to the presumptive GOP nominee at the convention in July, the Associated Press reported.

“Let’s face it: meet the old Trump, just like the new Trump,” Flake told reporters Tuesday. “We’ve got what we’ve got. That’s not somebody who can win the White House.”

Flake never supported Trump’s candidacy and has said he will not endorse him.

“Where there’s no talk of a convention challenge or anything else, this might spur it,” Flake said when asked about Trump’s remarks regarding Judge Gonzalo Curiel, a jurist whose parents came from Mexico to the United States before he was born.

Judge Curiel is presiding over the Trump University lawsuit case. The New York billionaire previously said he could not get a fair trial with Curiel given his “Mexican heritage” and his associations with left-leaning Latino legal advocacy organizations.

Trump later clarified his remarks saying that his comments were “misconstrued as a categorical attack against people of Mexican heritage.”
