Seattle Seahawks quarterback Trevor Boykin has officially been charged with misdemeanor assault after an incident before the Alamo Bowl.
Boykin allegedly struck a police officer on December 31, 2015, resulting in his arrest for the more serious charge of assaulting a police officer. As part of a deal with authorities, Boykin is now only being charged with misdemeanor assault causing bodily injury, according to ESPN.
“Trevone has already agreed to terms with the authorities on a lesser charge. He has been accountable and remorseful from the beginning. Trevone is looking forward to training camp starting July 30th and to competing for a roster spot,” Boykin’s agent Drew Pittman said in a statement.
