At the White House briefing on Friday, press secretary Josh Earnest claimed that President Barack Obama’s “view” on the FBI investigation into Hillary Clinton is “not relevant.”

Earnest said, “The president’s expectation is that this investigation will be handled just like all the others, which is that the investigators will be guided by the facts, they will follow the evidence, and they will reach a conclusion based on that evidence and nothing else.” (RELATED: Loretta Lynch Regrets Private Meeting With Bill Clinton [VIDEO])

Earnest went on to comment on Attorney General Loretta Lynch’s claim that she would “accept” the FBI’s recommendation claiming, “I think the president feels strongly that that is a decision she should make without regard to his opinion about it.” (RELATED: EXCLUSIVE: Hillary Clinton Scheduled To Meet With FBI On Saturday)

“These are independent decisions that should be handled by the Department of Justice, and it’s appropriate for the Attorney General to determine what her role is, and she’s spoken to that today and that is appropriate for her to do and frankly my view of that matter or even the president’s view of that matter is not relevant. This is an independent investigation that is intentionally being shielded from any sort of political interference.”

On Friday, The Daily Caller broke the news that Clinton is scheduled to meet Saturday with the FBI.
