George Clooney and his wife Amal have obtained a restraining order against a mentally unstable man who allegedly threatened the couple.

According to TheWrap, Clooney filed the restraining order against Los Angeles man Mark Bibbee, who is currently being treated in the psychiatric ward of the Veterans Administration Hospital.

The order calls for Bibbee, 55, to be at least 100 yards away from the couple for five years. He also cannot make contact with the Clooneys in any way.

Why the need for the restraining order in the first place? TMZ reports that Bibbee sent Clooney’s camp a 189-page document that included rambling, incoherent thoughts as well as remarks that could be construed as threats against George and Amal.

Included in the document was a reference to an assassination plot against former president George H.W. Bush and a claim that the Orlando nightclub shooting was a “false flag event to cover for LGBT criminal & pedophiles.”

If Bibbee violates the terms of the restraining order, issued July 11, he faces up to one-year in jail and/or a $1,000 fine. The coupled filed the restraining order on June 17.

TheWrap reports that Bibbee is bipolar and possibly schizophrenic.

The Clooneys are currently in Italy, according to TMZ.
