The Sierra Club attacked presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump three times in the last few days with increasingly outlandish rhetoric.

The green group’s Tuesday press release attacked Trumps’ “extreme policies which undermine environmental protection and climate action.” The Sierra Club even claimed that if Trump becomes president, the entire planet may be at risk.

“If this extremist platform were ever actually implemented, it would imperil clean air and clean water for all Americans,” Khalid Pitts, the political director of The Sierra Club, wrote in the Tuesday press statement. “Donald Trump has vowed to eliminate the Environmental Protection Agency, and now the Republican Party has codified a radical and dangerous path to enable Trump and his anti-environmental ideology.”

The nation’s oldest and largest environmental group has become increasingly more aggressive in its attacks on Trump, even publishing a 37-page report last Tuesday slamming his “regressive” views on global warming. The group’s attacks on Trump come from the organization’s highest official levels.

“The Republican platform has gone beyond partisan politics and extended into cartoonish absurdity. Any voter who cares about our climate has to help make sure that Donald Trump never becomes President, and that this platform never gets near a piece of legislation,” Pitts continued.

The Sierra Club officially endorsed Hillary Clinton for president in early June, claiming she’s a “strong environmental champion” and that “Trump and Pence are a one-way ticket to climate and environmental disaster,” according to a previous statement by Pitts published Friday. The green group previously endorsed President Barack Obama in 2012.

Despite the organization’s claims, policies promoted by The Sierra Club and environmentalist organizations are often at odds with other traditionally progressive ideas and frequently end up doing the most harm to the poor, as raising prices and environmental regulations impact low-income individuals more than the wealthy.
