Bernie Stops Pretending To Be A Democrat

Don’t you hate it when a guy joins your political party for the sole purpose of running for president, and then tries to boss you around as if he’s been there the whole time? Isn’t it annoying to listen to some Johnny-come-lately try to tell you what you should believe?

Not that you’d know how that feels, Republicans.

A lot of Democrats do, though, and now a man who’s been scolding them for the past year is casting them aside like the trash they leave behind them wherever they congregate in great numbers. Peter Nicholas, WSJ:

Bernie Sanders said he plans to return to the Senate as an independent, despite winning 13 million votes in the Democratic Party’s presidential primary contest…

“We need a DNC which has as very different direction,” he said. “I honestly don’t know many of the people there. But my guess is we’re going to need new leadership, a new direction and new personnel.”

“We”?

I can’t blame Bernie for being ticked off about how the DNC treated him. (Which we know because of the Russians, who are now, apparently, our pals.) I also can’t blame the DNC for not taking him seriously. He was too much of a commie even for them. But mostly, I’m glad they all hate each other now. They’ll get over it, and they’ll all march to the polls on Nov. 8 like good little drones,* but right now it’s fun to watch.

*Again: Not that you’d know anything about that, Republicans.

I can’t say I’ll miss seeing Bernie all the time, but at least he’s responsible for the only good thing about this stupid election: @BernieThoughts.

And so exits Bernie Sanders, leaving in his wake a trail of broken dreams and sobbing millennials. Can’t fault him for that! 🙂
