On Tuesday, a judge issued a warrant for hip-hop artist Tyga’s arrest after he missed a scheduled court hearing. However, the law isn’t the only thing coming down hard on the 26-year-old.
According to TMZ, the Kardashian clan is extremely upset with Tyga for this recent development. The outlet reports that several members of the family called Tyga repeatedly to scold him for his immaturity in regards to his missed court hearing. Their main concern was for Kylie Jenner, Tyga’s on again-off again girlfriend, who they don’t want to see mixed up in Tyga’s legal troubles.
In fact, the Kardashians are worried that Tyga’s behavior reflects poorly on them and damages their family brand. Despite the family’s frequent controversies, they have established a successful and highly profitable empire that spans merchandise, fashion, reality TV and more.
So why was Tyga playing hooky? TMZ reports that he’s in Turks and Caicos celebrating Kylie’s 19th birthday and has already hired a lawyer to deal with this most recent misstep.
The original court appearance stemmed from a $480,000 debt Tyga owes his Malibu landlord for back rent and damage. The court hearing this week was intended to offer the landlord’s lawyers a chance to speak with Tyga.
