Charles Krauthammer blasted the Obama administration for lying about the nature of the $400 million cash payment sent to Iran arguing that the problem is that “they lied and they lie shamelessly and they lie when the lie is uncovered.”
Appearing on Fox News’s “Special Report” on Thursday with guest host Shannon Bream, Krauthammer said, “I’m almost amused. This was so obvious on the day it was announced that it was ransom. All of us have seen movies, on the night it was announced, we talked about this. And there was no question about it. “Of course it was ransom. We’ve seen the movies. A set of cars drives up at one end of the meadow, a set of cars at the other, you’ve got the hostage, the bad guys have the money, the exchange happens. “I think the real issue is not that we did ransom because I think people know that and we do [that] in a lot of disguised ways. And we did a prisoner exchange with Bergdahl for example which is worse than giving away money. “That’s what is so scary. And they lied about the entire Iran deal. This is the tip of the iceberg that’s associated with the Iran deal. Every item on the Iran deal that we were promised, we’ve been holding the line on X, Y, and Z, or we did this, or we are getting inspections. They lied all the way through and that deal is shot through with denials, with all kinds of statements that are not so, and we are going to suffer that.
