Meet The Adorable Penguin Who Just Got Promoted In Norway’s King’s Guard [VIDEO]

Sir Nils Olav, a penguin at the Edinburgh Zoo, just got promoted to the rank of brigadier in the Norwegian King’s Guard.

Brigadier Olav capped his promotion with an inspection of Norway’s King’s Guard in a Tuesday ceremony at the Edinburgh Zoo.

WATCH:

Olav was inducted in 2005, when he was made colonel-in-chief. He performed his duties with such dignity and honor, King Harald V of Norway knighted him in a ceremony in 2008, giving him the title sir.

“We are honoured to host His Majesty the King of Norway’s Guard as they bestow a prestigious new title upon our king penguin, Sir Nils Olav,” Barbara Smith, acting chief executive for the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland, told reporters Tuesday.
